Maintenance Guide

Adjusting and leveling door frames during the new construction stage.
Although all efforts should be made to ensure that concrete is level through out the site, it is not uncommon to find high and low spots after the concrete has been poured.  Adjustment should be made at this stage to ensure that the doors and locks function properly after project is  completed.  Proper alignment and adjustment now will save time and money later on in the project.

As seen in these images, by the standing water, the foundation has a low spot.  In this situation the frame was raised using shims.  The floor will be later filled with concrete in this area to make it level with the surrounding area.  Note: ensure the proper shims are used where the the frame is bolted down to the floor.

This images above show the opposite problem.  This area is slightly higher than that of the surrounding areas.  To maintain head alignment, the outside concrete slab is chipped or ground down so that the area is level..
