Detention Door and Frame Construction Retro Fitting mechanical locks with Electro-mechanical locks.

As shown in these pictures, retro fitting mechanical locks to electro-mechanical locks can be made to look as if they were done straight from the factory.  As shown above, the mechanical lock is first removed.  A space is then cut out (Figure 1) of the door jam (shown by the dotted red lines) and removed to allow the fitting of the new electro-mechanical lock.  The wiring is run up (Figure 2) inside the door jam and the panel later replaced once the wiring is complete.
